    EVENT DESCRIPTION

    Two-day Instructor-led training

    Training provided by experienced faculty and/or co-authors of the SBOK™ Guide.

    Study Resources: Physical classroom material – SBOK™ Guide, Workbook, Case study booklet, Process Chart, and Estimation Cards.

     

    Online Resources and Mobile App – One month complimentary online course access which includes high quality videos, interactive case studies, chapter test, important terms and concepts, and mobile app.

     

     

    Course Overview

    Rapid changes in technology, market demands, and expectations have paved the way for the conceptualization and implementation of Agile methods and values in many organizations. Agile relies on adaptive planning and iterative development and delivery. It focuses primarily on the value of people in getting the job done effectively. SAMC™ Certified Professionals should appreciate the concepts of Agile development and have the ability to compare and choose the Agile methodology appropriate in a given situation. Applicants will be awarded the SCRUMstudy Agile Master Certified (SAMC™) certificate after successfully passing the certification exam.

     

    DAY1

    Introduction: This session describes the purpose and framework of the SBOK™ Guide and provides an introduction to the key concepts of Scrum. It also provides a summary of Scrum principles, Scrum aspects, and Scrum processes.

    Agile Overview: This session discusses the concept of Agile and the various Agile methodologies.

    Scrum Overview: This session discusses the concept of Agile and the various Agile methodologies.

    Domain of Agile Practices: This session describes Value-driven Delivery; Stakeholder Engagement; Team Performance Practices; Adaptive Planning; Problem Detection and Resolution; Continuous Improvement; and Agile Tools and Artifacts

    Estimation Exercise

    Lean Kanban: This session deals with Lean Kanban and covers topics such as Introduction to Lean Kanban Software Development; Core Values; Understanding Lean Software Development; Understanding Kanban; Definition of Lean Kanban; and Implementing Lean Kanban.

    Scrum: This session provides an understanding of Scrum. It includes topics such as Overview of Scrum; Brief History of Scrum; Why Use Scrum?; Scalability of Scrum; Scrum Principles; Scrum Aspects; Scrum Processes; and Scrum and Kanban.

    Extreme Programming (XP): This session discusses topics related to XP such as Introduction to XP; Core Values; Roles; Practices; XP Release; XP Artifacts; Adopting XP; and XP Events.

     

     

    DAY2

     

    Case Study – Create Product Backlog

     

    Case Study – Release Planning Meeting

    Dynamic Systems Development Method (DSDM): This session deals with topics such as Introduction to DSDM, Core Values, and Practices.

    Crystal Methodologies: This session covers topics such as Introduction to Crystal, Core Values, Roles, Practices, and Process.

    Feature Driven Development (FDD): This session discusses topics such as Introduction to FDD, Core Values, Roles, Practices, and Process.

    Comparison of Agile Methods: This session provides a comparison of all the Agile methodologies in a snapshot.

    Best Fit Analysis: This tool can be used by organizations considering transitioning to an Agile methodology. It is a short questionnaire designed to find the methodology which best fits an organization’s specific business situation.
